Main Route Between Phoenix And Las Vegas Reopen After Crash

PHOENIX (AP) — Authorities say the main route between Phoenix and Las Vegas has reopened after a car crash closed part of a freeway for about two hours.

Arizona Department of Transportation officials say the northbound lanes of U.S. 93 were closed south of Interstate 40 due to Thursday evening's accident.

Light rain fell most of the day in the Phoenix area, but it's unclear if the crash was weather-related.

Details of the crash aren't immediately available, but ADOT officials say the affected lanes of U.S. 93 were reopened by 7 p.m. MST.

The southbound lanes of the freeway weren't affected by the crash.
