Federal Law Banning Bump Stocks Effective In 90 Days

A federal ban on bump stocks takes effect in 90 days

Owning the weapon modification will become a felony.

The gunman in the October 2017 mass shooting on the Las Vegas Strip used the accessory, which simulates automatic gunfire when applied to a semi-automatic weapon.  

Under the new rule, bump stocks will be classified as “machine guns.”

Owners of bump stocks will have 90 days to dispose of or turn in the devices.
