Democrats Plan To Stay With Caucus System

Despite opposition from national Democrats, those in Nevada are maintaining a caucus system for deciding presidential candidates in 2020.

The Nevada Current reportsNevada's Democrats plan to reform the caucus structure in the state, but will not switch to a presidential primary.

That's despite the Democratic National Committee recommending earlier this month that states move away from caucuses where possible, in part because caucus turnout is usually lower than that of primaries.

Almost twice as many Democrats participated in this year's primary elections as they did in 2016's presidential caucus.
