Henderson could become the new home to Google.
The Nevada Independent reportsthe board of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development is set to review an application for Design LLC, a subsidiary of Google, that wants to build a data center here.
The project is expected to create 50 permanent jobs over five years, it’s also expected to yield a total investment of $600 million over the next 10 years.
Legislation passed in 2015 says data centers can qualify for tax breaks if they meet certain requirements.
Nevada is offering Google abatements worth more than $25 million over 20 years. The search engine giant has data centers in at least eight different states and several different countries.
