School Board Trustee Files Lawsuit In Harassment Case

Clark County School District Trustee Kevin Child on Friday said he filed a lawsuit against fellow trustees and former school district leadership, months after trustees settled a complaint over his alleged harassing behavior.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the 40-page lawsuit names the Clark County School District, fellow Trustees Carolyn Edwards and Deanna Wright, former Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky and former district lawyer Carlos McDade and former employee Donald Harris.

Child said he was only seeking that his name and reputation be cleared.

Issues with Childs’ behavior have been documented, including an investigation by the Office of Diversity and Affirmative Action that concluded Child created a hostile and intimidating work environment.

Skorkowsky twice tried to limit Child’s access to school property, which Child maintained was retaliation for asking questions related to the school’s budget shortfalls.
