Effort To Recall 2 Democratic State Senators Begins Again

A Republican-backed effort to recall two Democratic state senators has come to light again.

Last week, attorneys filed their opening briefs to appeal to the Nevada Supreme Court a lower court’s decision against qualifying the recalls for a special election five months ago.

The Nevada Independent reports the court will likely hear oral arguments in the case sometime in late September or early October.

The recall effort is funded by the Republican State Leadership Committee, who have tried to recall Senators Joyce Woodhouse and Nicole Cannizzaro.

In March, a judge in Clark County ruled the recall petitions didn’t have enough valid signatures. The effort has primarily been championed by state Senate leader Michael Roberson.
