In-N-Out Boycott Meets Resistance

A boycott of the In-N-Out Burger chain is meeting some resistance.

The LA Times reportsthe head of the California Democratic Party called for the boycott after a public filing revealed that the famed burger chain had recently donated $25,000 to California’s Republican Party.

The boycott debate began when Eric Bauman, the head of the California Democratic Party, called for the boycott in a Wednesday night Twitter post.

By yesterday, the story had become national and the party’s communications director, John Vigna, said Bauman’s tweet was “just his personal view” and the boycott was not an official California Democratic Party policy.

In-N-Out issued a statement by its executive vice president stating that the company gave equal amounts of money to both Democratic and Republican political action committees in California in 2018.
