The Clark County Commission yesterday postponed a vote on a permit to build the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s new convention hall in the area of Convention Center Drive and Paradise Road.
At issue is a waiver that would permit overnight construction of the Convention Center expansion.
Approval would allow construction noise between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., daily, enabling around-the-clock construction work.

The surrounding area is mostly commercial, but there’s also a four-tower residential complex nearby.
By postponing the vote, Commissioners will have more time to gather information.
The vote has been moved to July 18.
