The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for most of the day across the Las Vegas Valley.

It went into effect at 9 a.m. this morning and will last until 11 p.m.

Winds started out in the 10-15 mile per hour range and increased to 20-25 miles per hour this afternoon with gusts reaching up to 55 miles per hour.

The weather service warned about patches of dust and flying debris reducing visibility across the region. Today’s forecast high is 93 degrees.

Winds will die down to light breezes overnight and should be down to about 5-10 mph by Saturday morning.
