Las Vegas Mother, Undocumented Mexican Immigrant Released From ICE Custody; Case Pending

A Las Vegas mother and undocumented Mexican immigrant has been released after being held by authorities for several days.

The Review-Journal reports 46-year-old Cecelia Gomez was allowed to leave a detention center in Arizona Friday morning.

Gomez was detained late last month after she met with immigration officials thinking she was about to finalize her citizenship.  Instead, she was reportedly taken into custody in connection with a 20-year-old deportation order.

Gomez’s attorney says her client is now on supervised release at home and her immigration case is pending.
