Power Restored At Bellagio On Las Vegas Strip

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A hotel official says power is back on, six hours after a short circuit in an electrical panel closed parts of the Bellagio resort on the Las Vegas Strip.

MGM Resorts International spokeswoman Mary Hynes said power was restored about 5 p.m. Thursday to the Cirque Theater, buffet restaurant and parts of the casino race and sports book betting area.

Hynes says two evening performances of the Cirque du Soleil show "O'' went on as scheduled.

She says it may take time to reopen the buffet.

A Clark County fire official says no injuries were reported and no evacuation was ordered but firefighters helped people out of elevators after the outage about 11 a.m.

It was blamed on a water leak making contact with an electrical panel.

Guest rooms in the nearly 4,000-room property continued to have electricity.
