The City of Las Vegas and the owners of the World Market Center are considering a proposal to construct a new large expo center in downtown Las Vegas.
The $76 million project would consist of a new 350,000-square-foot- expo center adjacent to the World Market Center.
The director of the city’s urban development department said they have been working with the International Market Centers “for some time” on the proposal, and consider it a replacement to the now-closed Cashman Center.

Officials estimate the project to generate an additional $97 million in annual visitor spending in Downtown Las Vegas and $234 million in Southern Nevada.
The Las Vegas City Council will consider the issue at their meeting next Wednesday, April 4.
