About 75 students at Silverado High School walked out of class for 17 minutes Wednesday to protest gun violence.
The action is leading up to a much broader walkout planned for March, following a school shooting in Florida last week that left 17 dead.
But students who participate in walkouts could face consequences. Citing safety issues, the Clark County School District says if students walk out, they will be ineligible to participate in athletic or extracurricular activities.
