The Environmental Protection Agency is making plans to close the Las Vegas lab on the UNLV campus by the end of September.
The Nevada Independent reports that the move is being made as part of a consolidation effort.
While there were already plans underway to close the Las Vegas office, those plans had an end date of September 2020.

The closure will affect more than fifty employees, who may face retirement, resignation, or relocation to other labs where the Las Vegas-based work is being shifted, in North Carolina, Ohio, and Alabama.
