Joe Arpaio Says He Was Unaware Publication He Gave Interview To Was Anti-Semitic

Former Arizona Sheriff and Senate candidate Joe Arpaio is saying he did not know he did an interview with an anti-Semitic publication known for attempting to sow doubt about the Holocaust.

Arpaio said he was unaware of the content in the publication called American Free Press, that has questioned the legitimacy of Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel and ran stories with headlines such as “Holocaust Hoax Exposed.”

Arpaio said on Twitter he was unaware of the publication's stance and does not support that viewpoint.

As sheriff of Maricopa County for more than two decades, Arpaio was known for his harsh rhetoric and crusades against illegal immigrants.

It was Arpaio’s fifth interview with The American Free Press.
