Former UNLV Football Player Accused In Sex Trafficking Case

Attorney General Adam Laxalt announced Friday the filing of a criminal complaint against a former UNLV football player in a sex trafficking case.

Laxalt's office released a statement saying that Richard James Mapp of Las Vegas is being charged for the crime of kidnapping of a minor, sex trafficking a child, living from the earnings of a prostitute, and abuse and neglect against a child.

The alleged crimes were committed between September and November 2017.

Mapp played football as a receiver for University of Nevada Las Vegas in the early 2000s. Mapp is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center without bail.
