According to figures released Monday by the Nevada Department of Taxation, marijuana sales are well above the state’s projections.
The department says dispensaries sold $33.4 million in product. That’s brought in more than $5 million in taxes for November.
While that’s down from October – which saw $38 million in sales -- November’s totals were still $11 million more than the state projected for the month.

In the first five months of marijuana sales in Nevada, the 10 percent retail excise tax brought in nearly $16 million, which goes into the state’s rainy day fund.
