Sheldon Adelson is publicly breaking with former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, who has been leading an effort to oust Republican incumbents in 2018.
Adelson is the owner of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation and one of the GOP’s most prominent megadonors.
The public pronouncement comes about a month after Adelson met with Bannon in Washington, and a week after Bannon’s choice for Alabama’s open Senate seat has been accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women.
An Adelson spokesperson said they are supporting Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell 100 percent.
