Appointed Judge Sworn In To Nevada State Court In Reno

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A new judge has been seated in the Nevada state court in Reno.

Kathleen Drakulich was sworn in Monday to replace retired Washoe County District Court Judge Janet Berry.

Drakulich was appointed June 30 by Gov. Brian Sandoval.

The governor cited Drakulich's private practice experience, involvement in energy and natural resource issues, and nearly five years as a Washoe County prosecutor.

Berry retired recently after four years as a Reno Municipal Court judge and about 11 years on the Washoe County bench.
