Fire crews in Reno have a small fire burning southwest of the city about 20 percent contained.
According to the Reno Gazette-Journal, the Whites fire is about 60 acres. It's burning near Mt. Rose Highway. The fire has forced the closure of Thomas Creek and Whites Creek trailheads. At one point it also forced the closure of Timberline Road, but that road was back open by Wednesday morning.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
