North Las Vegas Constable Files Lawsuit Against Clark County

North Las Vegas Constable Robert Eliason has filed a lawsuit against Clark County and a state police standards board, asking the courts to determine the county has no grounds to remove him from office.

The Nevada Independent reportsEliason filed the complaint Wednesday in Clark County District Court. This comes days after County Commission members voted to delay a decision on Eliason’s future for two more weeks.

According to the county, Eliason had not obtained the proper certifications from the state to fulfill the requirements of his position. In Nevada, constables are charged with oversight of civil complaints, such as serving evictions or court documents. Eliason was elected to the constable’s office in 2014.
