Golden Knights Owner Upset Over Raiders' Las Vegas Move

Not everybody seems to be happy with the announcement the Oakland Raiders are moving to Las Vegas.

Among them: Vegas Golden Knights owner Bill Foley.

Foley appeared on a hockey program airing on KSHP AM in Las Vegas Wednesday, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

He said "there were a lot better ways to spend that $750 million than bringing the Raiders to Las Vegas."

That's in reference to the tax dollars to be spent on the Raiders' new digs in southern Nevada.

In contrast, the T-Mobile Arena – where the Golden Knights will play – was entirely privately funded.

Foley went on to say the money could've been used on education and other things, and that if he "had complete control of the situation," he wouldn't've wanted the Raiders in Las Vegas.

Casey Morell is the coordinating producer of Nevada Public Radio's flagship broadcast State of Nevada and one of the station's midday newscast announcers. (He's also been interviewed by Jimmy Fallon, whatever that's worth.)
