A jury in Las Vegas has gone home after a first day deliberating in the attempted murder trial of the former mixed martial arts fighter War Machine in an attack on his porn star ex-girlfriend and her male friend in August 2014.
Court officials said the panel quit about 5:30 p.m. Friday and will return Monday morning in the case Jonathan Paul Koppenhaver.
He faces 34 felony charges, and could face life in prison if he's found guilty of attempted murder, kidnapping and sexual assault.
His defense attorney on Thursday conceded Koppenhaver's guilt on eight lesser domestic battery charges for punching and injuring ex-girlfriend Christy Mack, and one charge that he threatened her friend Corey Thomas to dissuade him from going to police.
Convictions on those nine counts alone could get Koppenhaver decades in state prison.
