VEA Plans Fiber-Optic Installation In Beatty

The Valley Electric Association is working to make Beatty the first "all fiber-optic" town in Nevada.

The Pahrump Valley Times reports VEA's subsidiary Valley Communications will work over the next half-year to put in new power poles throughout Beatty that are capable of handling fiber-optic lines for internet service.

VEA already provides fiber-optic internet access in Pahrump, but it's through wifi and not from direct fiber to the home.
