Bomb Threat Diverts Traffic At Nellis Air Force Base

Officials at Nellis Air Force Base and the Metropolitan Police Department responded to a threat at the base Friday morning.

The announcement came around 6 a.m., when the main gate to the base was closed due to an incident involving a bomb threat.

By a little after 7 a.m., the base announced the incident was resolved and all entrances were open.

Base officials said a suspected drunken driver made a bomb threat upon approaching the gate, but no evidence of explosives were found in his car.

According to Metro, the base already had the man in custody when Metro was contacted to help with traffic, but they needed the area blocked while the man’s vehicle was investigated. Metro will continue to investigate the incident.
