Sen. Reid Concerned About ‘Constitutional Crisis’ If Democrats Don’t Retake Senate Majority

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid is urging voters to rally behind Democratic Senate candidates to prevent what he called “a constitutional crisis.”

The Huffington Post reports Reid sent an email last night through the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, asking for “an emergency donation” for Democratic Senate candidates in close races. He specifically mentioned Catherine Cortez Masto, who's in a heated contest with Congressman Joe Heck to replace Reid.

In the email, Reid expressed concerns about Senate Republicans’ implied intentions to  reject any nominee chosen by Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in the event she becomes president.

Without enough Senate Democrats, Republicans will be able to turn away any new addition to Supreme Court, even if the court loses more justices.
