The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has hired a new food vendor for its facilities for the first time in 44 years.
Vegas Inc reports Aramark has lost the contract for the Las Vegas Convention Center and for Cashman Field.
Instead, rival contractor Centerplate will take over foodservice operations beginning on Jan. 1.

The contract calls for Centerplate to pay a commission of nearly $8 million each year to the LVCVA.
It runs for seven and a half years, with options to extend thereafter.
Vegas Inc says Centerplate already has a deal in place with the Culinary Union.
