Road Closures Planned For Las Vegas Presidential Debate

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities are shutting down stretches of several major roads in Las Vegas for the final presidential debate as candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump arrive and depart the area.

The debate is scheduled for Oct. 19 at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Road closures are expected on and off that day between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Las Vegas police Sgt. Jeff Clark says the closures will primarily affect travelers going to and from the airport, although flight schedules won't be impacted.

The closures include Russell Road in both directions from McCarran International Airport to Maryland Parkway, Tropicana Avenue westbound from Maryland Parkway to Swenson Street and Flamingo Road eastbound from I-15 to Swenson Street.
