Las Vegas Stadium Backers To Give Update On Site Search

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Developers who wanted to zero in on one or two finalist sites for a potential Las Vegas stadium are giving a progress report.

Representatives from Majestic Realty and the Las Vegas Sands casino company are scheduled to update an oversight committee on Thursday on their effort to hammer out a real estate deal.

They want to get their plan in order by January, when NFL owners who must approve any team relocation are scheduled to meet and could decide whether to let the Raiders move to Las Vegas.

Stadium proponents want to tap into $750 million in hotel tax revenue to pay for a venue that they estimate will cost $1.7 billion to $2.1 billion depending on land acquisition costs.
