Poll Shows Almost Half Of Nevada Voters Support ESA Program

A new poll finds almost half of Nevada voters are in favor of the state’s controversial education savings account program, and more than two-thirds of those respondents are from richer homes.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports state Senator Scott Hammond suggests, based on that finding, wealthy families are usually the first to take advantage of such new programs.

The Las Vegas Republican is the author of legislation written last year that lets parents tap into about $5,100 in per-pupil funding to pay for private school tuition and other educational services.
