Six Nevada Hospitals Rated One Star On Controversial New Rubric

Five southern Nevada hospitals received one out of five stars based on a new rating system The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released yesterday.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports six hospitals statewide were ranked one star on the controversial rubric.

Two Nevada hospitals were rated four stars: Mesa View Regional Hospital in Mesquite and Renown South Meadows Medical Center in Reno.

The CMS said in a statement the ratings are meant to “help individuals, their family members and caregivers compare hospitals in an easily understandable way.”
