Congressional District 4 - Steve Brown - Libertarian

Name: Steve Brown

Office: Congressional District 4

Party Affiliation: Libertarian

Website: www.stevenbrown4congress.com

Biography provided by the candidate:

I grew up in Minnesota, served 3 years in the Army, then moved to Las Vegas in 1982. I worked as a dealer downtown until 1988, then quit to become a contractor full time. I still own the same business but during Great Recession, after being away from the casino business for 25 years I had to go back to being a dealer part time. For over 3 years, I've been a business owner during the day and a dealer at night. I have a daughter and 6 grandchildren.

Question: Do you support ANY form of background check for gun sales?

Leave the laws as they are now.

Question: What is your plan to work across the aisle to end partisan gridlock?

Find members of either party that you agree on the issues with and work with them.

Question: What is the ONE  Nevada issue you plan to bring to the national dialogue?

Stop Government for Profit. The local and state governments are creating new licenses, fees, inspection requirements, permits, etc. which are designed only to make money for the government. Also the outrageous salaries and pensions we pay to government administrators which will eventually lead to municipal bankruptcies. We are the public servants. The average person serves the Government.

Question: Rooftop solar vs. the state’s power utility –and potentially breaking up the energy monopoly in Nevada -- is shaping up to be one of this year’s greatest battles in the state. Should Nevada break up NV Energy’s regulated monopoly
