LAS VEGAS (AP) — Candidates in Nevada's pivotal Senate contest say they're looking forward to facing off in televised debates.
Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto proposed at least three debates before the November election, including one on KLAS in Las Vegas, one on PBS' Ralston Live public affairs program, and one on a Spanish-language TV station.
Campaign officials say the debate on Spanish-language TV would either be live in English or taped and with Spanish voiceover.
Brian Baluta of Republican Rep. Joe Heck's campaign said his team will propose a series of issue-oriented debates that would include Spanish-language networks.
Heck and Cortez Masto easily won their primaries this week and are turning to the competitive race to replace retiring Sen. Harry Reid. The race is key in deciding which party controls the U.S. Senate.
