UNLV named a new pick for basketball coach a day after Chris Beard announced his departure to work for Texas Tech.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported UNLV tapped New Mexico State’s Marvin Menzies for the job Saturday, but the hire isn’t yet official.
The University of Nevada Board of Regents still has to approve his contract. A vote is expected at a scheduled board meeting Friday.
Menzies coached under Lon Kruger at UNLV during the 2004-2005 season.
