Elko County Dealing With Flat Budget For Upcoming Year

Elko County has recommended that its commissioners turn down spending increase requests made by various departments.

The Elko Daily Free Press reports that the county began the year with revenues estimated at $35.7 million, with expenses expected to be $35.7 million.

Elko County Comptroller Debbie Armuth said the only increase in personnel will be the new Elko Justice of the Peace and bailiff. County departments made about $2 million in personnel requests.
