Bankrupt Las Vegas Solar Installer Loses Contracting License

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A bankrupt Las Vegas solar installer has had its license with regulators revoked amid widespread complaints from customers.

The Las Vegas Sun reports that the Nevada State Contractors Board revoked Summerlin Energy Las Vegas's license on Wednesday.

The solar installer filed for bankruptcy last month after a supplier filed a lawsuit claiming it was owned more than $700,000 for parts and complaints from customers who said Summerlin failed to finish work on their homes.

The Contractors Board began receiving complaints about Summerlin last fall and has now received more than 100.

Summerlin Energy has clients in Arizona, California and Texas. The contractors board in California said it had opened an investigation into the firm.

It is unlawful to operate as a contractor without a license.
