The Nye County School District is considering plans to reorganize.
The Pahrump Valley Times reports district officials believe they have not put in as much effort as they should on student learning initiatives.
To solve the problem, the district has proposed rearranging its leadership, including diffusing oversight of certain parts of district policy under associate superintendents.
A director of rural schools would be based in the northern part of the country to better address issues facing those schools.
The district says that while new positions will be added to its administration, they will not cost any additional money to create.
