A federal judge has granted the Bureau of Land Management an extension to hammer out land use plans to show southwestern Utah officials.
The Deseret News in Salt Lake City reports that the agency and Washington County have been locked in a dispute over a land management proposal.
The judge's allowance last week means the BLM can miss a court-ordered June 30 deadline.
The agency now has until Dec. 31.
County officials say the current proposal will unfairly restrict grazing, water access and transportation.
Both parties are also trying to reach a compromise over a northern corridor transportation route.
The conflict led to a congressional subcommittee conducting a rare oversight hearing last January in St George.
BLM officials have said they consulted local officials.
