Federal officials are now getting involved in the investigation of a former Boulder City animal control head accused of improperly euthanizing animals.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the Drug Enforcement Administration is looking into how Mary Jo Frazier handled the drugs used to put the animals down.
Federal law mandates access to the drugs be tracked so officials can see which employees use the drugs and for what purposes.
Testimony in the investigation states Frazier was the only one who both had access to the drugs and performed euthanasia when she was in charge of the shelter.
It is alleged during the initial Boulder City investigation of the Frazier case that documentation related to Frazier's access to euthanasia drugs was tampered with by Bill Conger, the former Boulder City police chief, who himself is accused of trying to bury the case.
