Democratic leaders in the Nevada Senate are endorsing an attorney to run for the seat held by Republican Sen. Scott Hammond.
The Senate Democratic caucus endorsed Alexander Marks on Monday for Senate District 18, which covers parts of northwest Las Vegas.
Marks is an attorney for David Saxe Productions, which operates two theaters in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood.
He was born and raised in Las Vegas and previously represented college students as government affairs director for the Arizona Students' Association.
The Senate district leans slightly Republican but has a sizeable number of registered nonpartisan voters who could swing the election.
