Trial Date Set For Man Indicted On Charges Of Shooting Cop

Trial has been scheduled July 25 for a man indicted on attempted murder and other charges in the shooting of a veteran Las Vegas police officer during what investigators called a random encounter in an apartment complex hallway.

Prosecutor Giancarlo Pesci said Friday that Teag Lanier Fox pleaded not guilty Wednesday in the Dec. 17 shooting of Officer Gregory Sedminik.

Pesci says Sedminik is recovering after surgery for wounds to his arm and upper torso.

Fox also faces felony battery and weapon charges in the shooting at a complex south of the Las Vegas Strip.

Police launched an intense search of the area before Fox was arrested several hours later at a golf course community several miles away.
