Small Fire Contained At Caesars' Forum Shops

A small electrical fire at the Forum Shops next to the Caesars Palace hotel-casino has been traced back to the holiday decorations at the shopping mall on the Las Vegas Strip.

The Clark County Fire Department said they found smoke and small flames about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday near the Ralph Lauren store.

It was quickly extinguished, with no injuries or evacuations and only minor damage to the wiring.

The fire was caused by an overloaded circuit, which melted an extension cord that was used to power a decorative holiday display.

The incident did not affect other parts of the Caesars Palace complex.

The company couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
