Animal Rights Groups Appeal Pahrump Tiger Decision

Animal rights groups have appealed against a decision by the Pahrump Regional Planning Commission to allow a man to house tigers on his property, according to the Pahrump Valley Times.

PETA is among the groups appealing to the Nye County Commission to have the decision overturned. The groups argue Ray Mielzynski does not have the proper federal permitting needed to house tigers on his property.

The Valley Times, though, says Mielzynski says he does not need permits because the tigers will not be exhibited to the public.

Nye County has said the appeal will be heard within the next 60 days.
