CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada's first lady has returned from a national conference focused on young people in the justice system.
The governor's office said Tuesday that Kathleen Sandoval led a delegation of six to represent Nevada at an event at the Council of State Governments Justice Center in Austin, Texas.
The two-day conference looked at all 50 states and focused on improving outcomes for young people in the juvenile justice system.
Representatives discussed local and state polices and national experts were on hand to offer feedback and collaborate.
The governor's wife said in a statement that Nevada continues to strive for a system that is fair and to develop curriculum to prevent recidivism.
Supreme Court of Nevada Justice Nancy M. Saitta also attended.
