Gaming Control Board Bans Daily Fantasy Sports Sites

Nevada regulators have banned daily fantasy sports sites from operating in the state.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the state Gaming Control Board filed a cease and desist order Thursday, prohibiting the sites from operating in Nevada.

The board said the sites offer sports wagering services. That opinion came following an investigation from the state attorney general.

The board also said sites like DraftKings or FanDuel would need to have a sports pool license to operate in the state.

This comes on the heels of a federal investigation of such sites to determine if they violate federal laws concerning online gambling.
