Jury Nearly Picked For Trial In Las Vegas Strip Shooting, Crash

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A jury could be seated Wednesday in Nevada for the death-penalty trial of a self-described pimp accused of killing three people by shooting into a moving car and causing a fiery crash on the Las Vegas Strip.

A court official says openings are scheduled Thursday.

Ammar Harris has pleaded not guilty to murder, attempted murder and felony discharging a firearm charges in the February 2013 incident.

He's accused of mortally wounding an aspiring rapper behind the wheel of a Maserati before the sports car slammed into a taxi that burst into flames.

The Maserati driver, taxi driver and a tourist from Washington state were killed.

Police say the shooting followed an exchange of words at a casino valet stand following a hip-hop concert at a nightclub at the Aria resort.
