State law officers are investigating the death of an inmate at the Mineral County jail in Hawthorne.
Deputies say the male inmate was unresponsive when they found him in a cell on Friday. He was declared dead just before 5:30 p.m.
The Mineral County sheriff's office has requested assistance in the case from the Nevada Division of Investigations.
The name of the man is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. No other details have been released.
