Prison Inmate Dies Following Complaints Of Seizures

A 46-year-old Nevada prison inmate who complained of seizures after suffering a head injury in a fall in the North Las Vegas jail has died in state custody in Indian Springs.

The Nevada Department of Corrections said Friday that Johnnie Benjamin Jordan Jr. couldn't be resuscitated after he was found unresponsive Wednesday in a single-person infirmary cell at High Desert State Prison.

The Clark County coroner is investigating his cause and manner of death.

Jordan's lawyer, Spencer Judd, says Jordan complained that his head injuries were never treated properly.

Jordan was sentenced in 2010 to 10 years to life in prison on a felony lewdness with a child conviction in Las Vegas.

Court records show he withdrew an appeal of the case in August amid questions about his mental competency.
