Police Search For Suspect In Las Vegas Car Shooting

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas are looking for a suspect or several suspects involved in a shooting between two vehicles that left a man dead.

Las Vegas police said Sunday afternoon that the shooting occurred northeast of downtown on Owens Avenue on Saturday.

Officers found a man around 4:30 p.m. in a white SUV who had a gunshot wound. He died later at a hospital.

KSNV-TV News 3 reports the Clark County coroner's office later identified the man as 28-year-old Jairo Garcia.

Detectives say they believe a suspect or suspects involved drove a silver Chrysler 200. Officers later found the vehicle abandoned with several bullet holes in it.

Police have not determined a motive for the shooting but say Garcia had ties to gangs and the shooting could be gang-related.
