Chair Of Clark County Democratic Party Elected To 3rd Term

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Clark County Democratic Party has re-elected its chairman to a third two-year term.

Chris Miller ran uncontested for the seat and won in elections held Saturday. He said his new executive board members all have experience running for office and are eager to return Nevada to being a Democrat-controlled state.

Miller said Monday that he embarked on a "listening tour" after Democrats lost control of the Legislature and all statewide offices in the 2014 midterm elections. He said his organization has responded by trying to spur more grassroots involvement in Democratic clubs and caucuses.

Miller is the first openly gay chairman of a Democratic Party organization in Nevada. His counterpart in the Clark County Republican Party, Ed Williams, recently became the first openly gay chairman of that organization.
